What is the difference of play group?

Play group  is the first step that toddlers (children of 18-36 month) leave their mothers to spend time in a classroom together with a teacher.  According to the adaptation process of the child mothers/babysitters spend some time differing between a couple of weeks  with the child in the play group. After the adaptation process, children can stay in the group with their teachers and friends. During this period the linguistic and cognitive development of the child is being supported. Children improve in the areas of vocabulary development, articulation, toilet training, playing, eating and communicating with the group.

The most pleasing situation for the play group teacher is too see the children growing up rapidly.

Our activities:

Yoga: Everyday they start the day with mini yoga accompanied  with various games.

Free play: Free play is done with the mother in the corner of interest inside the classroom or with the teacher in the garden.

Play time is a precious time period when all the development areas of our children are supported. In the playground areas, that have been organized accordingly, children play in a corner of interest with the teache rguiding them

Language activities: Activities such as finger play, rhymes, story and tale telling, reading on certain subjects, watching visual aids are performed

Art activities: Activities  supporting the subjects scheduled in the yearly program, playing with play dough which supports the motor muscle development, tearing and pasting,  coloring,  and activities that require scissor using are performed. Activities performed with the scissors are done towards the end of the year, in accordance with the muscle development of childre

English: Everyday studies are done for 20 minutes  with the English teacher and their class teacher, in order to get acquainted with the language.

Drama-dance-music: Listening and singing songs that reinforce  the topics they learn, musical dramatizations and games are performed

Culinary activities: Small hands are in the kitchen…Through the kitchen activities various concepts are introduced, children have fun, learn and taste different flavors, spend entertaining time

His/her mother, father or someone that he trusts can be present at  school together with the child during the adaptation period. Within time a relation based on love and trust is set up between the child and the teacher. When this relation is established the child is ready to stay alone in the school. If this period is extended more and more, efficient solutions will be developed together with our teachers

To understand the play group better:

Two separate groups for 18-26 months old and 27-36 months old children

Separate groups for those in adaptation period and for those already are used to school

Education programs

In our school, we take the developmental issues of the children into consideration and use a combination of several techniques suitable for that age level.

High-scope(active learning)

Active learning is defined as experiencing ; it is the children interpreting their own experiences to develop new ideas and concepts.

Scramper(different thinking methods)

It is different thinking methods; it helps to improve  the skills to think differently, to use  imagination and intuition.

It is a high quality, flexible program that brings effective science and math activities to the classroom.

Reggio Emilia(Project based learning)

Reggio Emilia approach is an educational practice that enables the child to be active and use his present knowledge  with the new information and gain a new perspective.

Rapid growth takes place at all development areas in early childhood period.
